Believing that globalization can aid towards a progressive education, the College of Teacher Education, Arts and Sciences (CTEAS) once proclaimed that learning in 21st century is integral and ever-changing. With the theme, “Globalisasyon: Tumong sa tinuod nga kausaban ipadayon, Yawi kini sa kalambuan sa edukasyon. Hugyaw! Kay ato kini nga adlaw!!!”, CTEAS College Days called as Hugyaw proved a recognition of ASEAN’s role in the present and future..
Started on August 17, Hugyaw’s DAY 1 was highlighted by an Invitational Basketball Game featuring CTEAS Faculty versus SCC Employees and CTEAS Players versus High School Varsity. The High School Varsity emerged as the victor.
August 19, Day 2, was a whole package of fun. The morning comprised Mascot and Mass Dance Competition participated by all the clubs in the department: English World Enthusiasts (EWE), Political Science Association of Young Statesmen (POLISAYS), Social Active Students (SAS), The League of MAPEH Students (TLMS), Kasamahan ng mga Mag-aaral sa Filipino (KAMAFIL), Societas Philosophiae, Sci Matrix, and Mentors.
The evening accentuated Film Making with Music video and All-in-One Musical Band Contests.
August 20 was the last day of Hugyaw. Color Fun Run and Zumba occurred early in the morning followed by Larong Pinoy and Unity Lunch. The night of Day 3 was the most exciting event as it was the Awarding Ceremony. CTEAS students wore ASEAN attire (except Filipino attire) and witnessed how the different clubs contended for Hip Hop Dance prior to the announcement of winners.
Finally, the proclaimed conquerors for each category were: Mascot – TLMS, Mass Dance – TLMS, Film Making – EWE, Music Video – POLISAYS, Musical Band – EWE, Drama Excerpt – Mentors, and Hip Hop Dance – EWE. The over-all results were as follows: 3rd Runner-up – Sci Matrix, 2nd Runner-up – Mentors, 1st Runner-up – TLMS, and Champion – EWE.

SAINT COLUMBAN COLLEGE College of Business Education (CBE) exemplified solidarity and unity as it celebrated CBE Day with the theme: “One CBE, One Family”. As a two-day activity, the occasion had club activities that were simultaneously held in different locations from July 27-28: JPIA and JPIACT at SCC YDC – Yell Competition, Clash of Deities, Amazing Race, Clash of Gods, Night of Gods and Goddesses, and Ambassador/Ambassadress of Goodwill; JPCM and LSOP at SCC Quadrangle – Banner Making, Yells Competition, Comical Skit, On the Spot Advertisement, Quiz Bee, Amazing Race, Solo and Duet Contest, and Emissary 2016; and CHARES at DPC – Cake Decoration, Bread Showpiece, Fruit Carving, and Platted Dessert. Truly, CBE embodies the essence of being one family. It is rooted in the oneness of spirit despite the diversity of our capacity and personality. And this is what makes a true-blue SCCian.

SAINT COLUMBA N COLLEGE To raise the bar of excellence higher and maintain quality education, SCC Administration, Faculty, and Staff gathered again for the 2nd General Assembly last August 3 at the YDC. Delivering the Welcome Address, the School President, Rev. Fr. Gilbert M. Hingone, STL also presented the Rationale of the significant occasion that would redefine the institution’s prestige in the years to come. Rev. Fr. Belstar O. Ediang, VP for Administration and Finance introduced the Annual Implementation Plan and announced the 10 Priorities of the AIP. They were the: Physical Plant which was also discussed by Rev. Fr. Ediang himself; Curriculum by Dr. Mario F. Alayon; Faculty by Dr. Susan Ramirez; Finance by Atty. Beverly Travero; Admin by Rev. Fr. SAINT COLUMBAN COLLEGE TREE PLANTING: Touching the Soil by Ernelyn Jimenez “..we should be grateful to our Lord. We should touch the soil.”, Rev. Fr. Belstar O. Ediang’s uplifting message. Saint Columban College employees along with one goal, to take care of the Mother earth conducted its annual tree planting last July 13 at Barangay Banale, Pagadian City. Sr. Ammie R. Adoremos,CB started the activity with a catecheses then a gospel reading about the Parable of the Sower was shared by Dr. Gilbert Celesio and was followed by the blessing of the fruit seedlings by Rev. Fr. Belstar O. Ediang. The SCC Kadugtong-Community Involvement Program covers one of the SCC core values – the taking care of Mother Earth. It is intended to stop soil erosion, restore the beauty of the surroundings and to show greener Earth in the future generations. Each employee brought and planted a fruit seedling with smiles, hopes and prayers for a restored planet.
